Ade – In coffee shops and DQ: “May I have your name ma’am?”
Me: “It’s Ade. A – D – E.”
After a few minutes… “Caramel Frapuccino for EYD !” haha!
Anyhoo, practically everyone calls me Ade. It’s just a shortened version of my
name, annADElle. And I like it because it’s different.

Adi – Pronounced with the diin at the last syllable. My relatives call me this. It’s a shortened version of my next nickname which is…

Adidong – Not really sure why or when or how… everyone has a funny nickname when they were kids. Eto yung akin. (Stop snickering! haha)

‘Te De – My cousins, my tita Ling and S.

Adel – People who don’t know me that well. Like I said, Ade is an unusual name and people are more inclined to remember Adel. So why didn’t this nickname stick? People call my dad Adel too. So to prevent confusion, I chose Ade.

Addie – A more sosyal version of my nickname, Adi. My friends, si Isay lalo na, use this if and when they need something from me. Mas malambing kasi.

Annabelle – Dyaki calls me Annabelle. Dyslexic?! Haha! She would usually sing, “Monkey, monkey, Annabelle..” Sira ulo! Haha!

Ms. Robles – pronounced as “Robols”, Dr. Segarra and his humor. Period!

De – Christian, Tano.

Annadale – Smacky. Maarteng version ng Annadelle.

Kambal – Old relatives like my Tito Dan and Tito Lito. They call my sister and I,
Kambal. Even if I was the only one there, they would still refer to me as “Kambal”.

Bru - My best friend, Fer.

Sis - My close friend, A - jay. And some of my church mates. And Khaye.

Dud - My friend, Cielo.

Panget - My close friend, Paulo. (He calls his GF and Gayle Panget also, so I'm guessing he means the opposite. haha)

Ganda - My school mate, Anj. (I also call her, Ganda. Bigayan lang. haha)
Marian – Clariz and Monet… Dahil daw sa buhok ko.

Poleng – Maribel, our maid, whom I so love! Haha! Poleng is derived from…

Pauleen – A lot of people have been saying that I look like Pauleen Luna. I’ve actually been mistaken for her when I was in Boracay I few years back. I feel flattered and embarrassed every time people say I look like her. But I swear, people who are close to me would argue that I don’t look anything like her. Anyway, people at school, some of my professors, and some of my classmates call me Pauleen. They even ask me about Winwin Gatchalian (Pauleen’s ex boyfriend). :roll eyes:

I reposted this from my old blog. Just a week ago I was telling a friend how I want to change my nickname. I was just imagining how Ade would sound with a Dr. before it. "Dr. Ade". Parang di bagay. I wanted to change my nickname into Addie sana. But I don't think it would be easy. haha!

Anyway, I tag.. everyone and anyone!",

Lloydy's Part 2

My initial reaction when I found out that “A Very Special Love” has a sequel is that of, well, apprehension. I thought that the movie was simple and that it couldn’t have a sequel because what else could possibly happen? Parang I couldn’t imagine what the conflict of the movie will be. However, after remembering how cute Lloydy was in the first movie, my friends and I decided to go and watch the film. Haha! Ok.. I was pretty excited about it!

Turns out, the story did have a pretty good “conflict” in it. Miguel (Lloydy) is busy at work. He’s working his ass out to gain the respect and approval of his family. Laida on the other hand, made her life revolve around her dream-come-true boyfriend. She eventually finds herself disappointed when Miguel couldn’t spend more time with her.

The plot is simple but everyone who has had a taste of being in a relationship for the first time would find themselves easily relating to the characters. I for one could only cringe as I remember how I said the very same lines Laida said to Miggy. I cringe because now, they seem so petty and very irrational. Lines like how I feel I love someone more than he loves me, or how I want my partner’s world to revolve around me, or how I’m tired of hearing him say that there’s nothing more he could give or change and that he’s doing his best. When I saw the movie, I realized how ill and crazy one could get especially when it comes to relationships.

Some of the points I took home from the movie: (1) Love should never be measured. It is not about who loves who more; because if we could measure love, it always wouldn’t be enough and it will never be shared equally between partners. Just love, without measuring what you get in return.

(2) Your world is your world. His world is his world. They could merge at some point but you two have different circles, different set of friends, different activities… Do not move into a single world where only the two of you exist. Allow growth.

(3) A hug could do wonders! Haha! Power hug! Hahaha!

Anyway, for those who haven’t watched the movie yet, go! Although it is a bit corny (especially the bits wherein Sarah calls Lloydy “bebe ko!”) it could be such cheap thrill!”,
